VORONEZH, February 13 (Itar-Tass) - The second long-range IL-96-300
plane, built in Voronezh, is ready to be turned over to the Cubana de
Aviacion Company. Vyacheslav Salikov, deputy director-general of the
Ilyushin-Finance Company, which handles the sale of the plane to the
Cuban air company, told Itar-Tass on Monday that “the Russian enterprise
has fulfilled all its commitments to the Cuban partners.”

Two planes have been built for Cuba within the framework of the
programme of the Russian government of providing financial support for
the export of manufactured goods. The federal budget allocated 94
million dollars of guarantees for the implementation of the programme.
The value of the liners is 110 million dollars. Cuba has already paid 15
per cent of the sum.

Both IL-96-300 planes have two passenger saloons. Specialists believe
they meet all international requirements both by their technical
characteristics and by the level of comfort they provide for passengers.
The first plane was turned over to Cuba late in 2005.

Salikov said as well that “Cuba decided to purchase two more IL-96-300
planes, to be built at the Voronezh aircraft building works.”
