Cuba keeps distance from Venezuelan model

The Cuban development model shares the same goal as those in China,
Vietnam and Venezuela, but characteristic features are quite different,
said Monday Cuban official daily Granma.

According to the newspaper, any comparisons are a non-naïve tactic of
Cuba's foes.

"Individual experiences should be made common to prevent avoidable
mistakes, but never to use predefined models as straitjackets," stated
the story authored by economist, political expert and former ambassador
Manuel Yepe, AFP quoted.

As for Venezuela, "the goal of reinforcing national identity and defense
of sovereignty are similar, as well as those aimed at furthering social
justice. Differences may be small or endless, because they come from
different factors. They may differ also in terms of the ability to stand
any pressure and resist any temptation," he stressed.
