Iran-Cuba-Economic Cooperation
The 12th Iran-Cuba economic commission meeting will be held in Havana,
Cuba on June 13-14.

Minister of Industries and Mines Alireza Tahmasbi will head the Iranian
delegation to the meeting during his visit to the Cuban capital.

Iranian and Cuban delegation are to sign agreements on exporting flat
wagons, delivery of cement, construction of a cement factory with a
production capacity of one million tons as well as a bicycle
manufacturing factory in Cuba.

The agreements to be signed in the joint commission meeting will also
include the construction of a 70 kilometers of highway by Iranian
contractors in Cuba, export of Iranian manufactured Pride automobiles to
be used as cab in Cuba, service and fixing of high voltage transformers
and export of electricity industry equipment.

The two sides also will discuss cooperation on biotechnology and the
transfer of technical know-how for production of pesticides to Iran.

They will discuss various economic, banking, agricultural, broadcasting,
environment, oil, gas, petrochemicals, electricity, handicrafts and tourism.

It is predicted that the volume of credits for purchase of goods between
Export Development Bank of Iran and its Cuban counterpart will be
increased from dlrs 200 million to dlrs 500 million.

So far dlrs 196 million out of the dlrs 200 million credit have been
absorbed by companies of the two countries.
