Surplus of personnel in Cuba's Agriculture hinders production

Surplus of personnel in Cuba's Agriculture hinders production

There is an urgent need of increasing the food production and reduce
importations

"There is an urgent need of increasing the food production and reduce
importations; this scenario has triggered the solution of this old
problem, a problem which causes bureaucracy, rises costs, halts
productivity, creates disorders and prevents the worker to improve his
income."

Twenty-six per cent of Cuban agriculture's labor force is unproductive,
a problem "that generates bureaucracy, affects costs, slows down
productivity and prevents workers from improving their income."

Cuba is currently embarked on a major effort to increase farm production
and drop the import bill on food products, impossible to maintain at its
current amount.

Agriculture on the island is working hard to diversify the branch and
increase national products for the locals and for tourists as well.
