Vietnam pledges to facilitate Cuba's exports

Vietnam pledged to create favourable conditions for Cuba to export goods
to the country and would closely work with Cuba to expand business in
Latin American countries and the Caribbean region.

At the 24th annual meeting of the Vietnam-Cuba Inter-governmental
Commission opened in Hanoi on October 5, Construction Minister Nguyen
Hong Quan, Vietnamese head delegate, praised Cuba for successful
organisation of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in September.

He stated that Vietnam always attached importance to the traditional
solidarity and friendship with Cuba.

Cuban head delegate Ramon Ripoll thanked the Vietnamese Government for
supplying enough rice to meet Cuba's demand and asked Vietnam to
maintain the supply level of 400,000 tonnes of rice for next year.

The Cuban head delegate also expressed his pleasure at the co-operation
between the two countries in the fields of agriculture, fisheries,
bio-technology, construction, science and technology. (VNA)
