Bismarck, N.D. (AP) North Dakota's Agriculture commissioner says Cuba
plans to buy about $7.5 million worth of peas and lentils.

Roger Johnson announced the deal from Havana. He is leading a North
Dakota trade delegation to the country this week. He says the Cubans are
buying about 12,000 tons of peas and lentils.

North Dakota is the nation's leading producer of peas and lentils.
They've made up most of North Dakota's sales since state producers began
selling farm products to Cuba six years ago.

Johnson says he's also trying to complete a seed potato sale to Cuba,
and the trade group is talking about deals for dry beans and dried
distillers' grains, which are a byproduct of ethanol production.
