The African National Congress says a trade delegation of 60 South
African business people representing 45 companies will today head to
Cuba. The group will spend a week in that country exploring bilateral
trade opportunities between the two countries.
ANC spokesperson Jessie Duarte says the visit, the first to take place
on the 15th anniversary of the signing of trade and co-operation
agreement between the two countries, is important given the two
countries' commitment to promote South-to-South trade. The trip was
facilitated by the Progressive Business Forum, an outreach arm of the
ANC which promotes dialogue between corporate South Africa and the ANC.
Cuban Ambassador Angel Villa and Progressive Business Forum co-convener
Renier Schoeman are expected to address the media prior to the business
trip. - Sapa
