HAVANA, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Officials and business people from Cuba
and Vietnam continued their meetings here on Tuesday to discuss
possibilities of boosting bilateral trade.

Nguyen Hon Quan, Vietnamese construction minister and head of
delegation, came here to attend the Enterprise Forum of the 27th
Cuba-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission and to meet his Cuban
counterpart Fidel Figueroa.

Both sides stressed the "infinite" trade potential to be tapped
between the two countries, while revealing that the total bilateral
trade volume had exceeded 490 million U.S. dollars in the first half of
this year.

Letters of intention were signed between Cuban companies of
Unecamoto and Alcuba and two Vietnamese firms at the forum inauguration
on Monday at the National Hotel in Havana. The Cuban Interior Commerce
Ministry and Light Industry Ministry have also signed contracts with the
Vietnamese company Nhat Trang.

Most Vietnamese exports to Cuba are textiles, shoes, porcelain,
electronic equipment and accessories, while imports from Cuba include
biotechnological products and services specialized in areas like health
care.
