Namibia, Cuba To Accelerate Manufacturing Sector Projects
WINDHOEK, Oct 24 (Bernama) -- Namibia and Cuba are embarking on concrete
steps to accelerate projects in the manufacturing sector, the Deputy
Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Peya Mushelenga says.
The deputy minister made the announcement during a courtesy visit of the
Cuban Vice-Minister of Trade and Foreign Investment, Ileana Nunez here
on Friday, Namibia Press Agency (Nampa) reported.
Mushelenga said the two countries will embark on concrete steps to
fast-track three projects in the manufacturing sector.
The projects include the establishment of a pharmaceutical plant as well
as work on renewable energy and capacity building in the manufacturing
sector.
Mushelenga said during President Hage Geingob?s official visit to Cuba
last month, the President emphasised the early operationalisation of the
joint pharmaceutical plant and it is therefore fitting to accelerate
work on the project.
The Cuban Vice-Minister of Trade and Foreign Investment is in Namibia on
a State visit from Tuesday until Sunday.
