Tampa, Florida - It was a festive atmosphere within airside F at Tampa
International Tuesday as the airport celebrated its newest flight, a
second destination in Cuba.
The first commercial service between Tampa and Havana in nearly 50 years
began last month and now ABC Charters is expanding with a second weekly
flight to the eastern Cuba city of Holguin. Tampa is only the second
U.S. city to offer commercial service between the United States and Cuba
to a city other than Havana.
The Holguin flight will depart every Tuesday afternoon and carry around
115 passengers. The flight will make it more convenient for people from
Tampa trying to get to east Cuba which would otherwise require an 11
hour drive from Havana.
ABC Charters says tickets are selling for approximately $550.
